Ambassador Training graduates conduct orientation programs, appear on radio and television programs, present to professional groups and business, conduct house meetings, organize student groups, establish advocacy initiatives with their faith group, advocate on behalf of the NVRI to legislators, write articles about the NVRI and the PAR Model, act as a resource about the NVRI, and engage in other act ivies which further the success in moving the NVRI agenda forward.

In Brief

  The National Violence Reduction Initiative

The purpose of the Ambassador Training program is to give students, adults, and seniors training and presentation skills that will allow them to clearly and effectively communicate about the NVRI and the PAR Model to a broad range of individuals, groups, and organizations.

Graduates of the Ambassador Training will receive essential information so that they can become an effective independent representatives for the National Violence Reduction Initiative (NVRI) and its efforts to bring an end to the savage epidemic of violence. They may also be qualified to present the "Getting to the End of Violence" and "PAR in Practice" programs, subject to faculty approval. Ambassador Training graduates are a critical element in bringing the NVRI to communities throughout the United States.

Participants in the Ambassador Training learn about the new Violence Integrative Prevention and Restoration (PAR) Model — the revolutionary new evidence-based "social technology" which is the foundation for the NVRI. They also receive comprehensive presentation training and resources that enable them to make public presentations. Ambassador Training graduates conduct orientation programs, appear on radio and television programs, present to professional groups and business, conduct house meetings, organize student groups, establish advocacy initiatives with their faith group, advocate on behalf of the NVRI to legislators, write articles about the NVRI and the PAR Model, act as a resource about the NVRI, and engage in other act ivies which further the success in moving the NVRI agenda forward.

The course includes:

  24-hours of classroom training.
  A resource package which is provided during the training.
  An online Ambassador Tool Kit — a broad range of resources to enhance the classroom experience as well as to support making presentations, organizing, effective communication about the NVRI and the PAR Model to others, working with the media, presentation resources, and more.
  Presentation software for presenting the "Getting to the End of Violence" programs.
  An internship with experienced Ambassadors or faculty.
  Continuing support and mentoring.
  A free subscription to the "Ambassador"  email newsletter — an exclusive for Ambassador Training graduates. The e-newsletter provides additional resources, new connections, ideas, and news about the NVRI and the PAR Model.

Course Description

The Ambassador Training and the Voices Training are conducted at the same time. Those in the Ambassador Training continue on with the presentational skills modules, learning about making effective and successful presentations and deepening their understanding of the NVRI and the new PAR Model. Course Requirements

Participants must be age 16 or older. They must complete reading assignments which are sent to them via email in the weeks prior to the course dates. To be certified as full Ambassadors, participants will be evaluated by the faculty. Attending the course does not automatically mean that a participant will be certified.

Certification Rights

Those successfully completing and receiving faculty approval for the Voices Training will be certified to:

  Communicate the National Violence Reduction Initiative to individuals.
  Organize and lead support meetings.
  Present to service groups.
  Present to professional groups, including businesses.
  Present to religious groups.
  Conduct public programs.
  Present at conferences.
  Appear on media programs.
  Earn income from presentations.

Who Should Attend This Program

The Ambassador Training is open to anyone aged 16 or older. You should consider attending if you are interested in the NVRI and the new PAR Model and you want to make a significant contribution to the effort to reduce and eliminate violence. Certification also allows you to augment your professional efforts with an additional income-generating capability. The training will be of value to those in the consulting, coaching, healthcare, mental health, criminal/justice, military, relief, social service, education, and other professions. This training meetings a requirement for those wishing to apply for a position on the NVRI staff. Ambassador Certification will be valuable when applying for PAR Model training positions.

Additional Information

Language: The course is currently provided in English only.

Refunds: Course tuition and fees can be refunded up to 10 days before the first day of the course, less a $25.00 processing fee. No refunds are available after 10 days before the start of the course. However, your tuition and fees may be applied to a future course.

Substitutions: If you are unable to attend, you may have someone else attend in your place. Your tuition and fees will cover their participation.

Tax Deduction: Tuition fees and optional expenses from these courses are deductible as a business, professional, and educational expense within the limitations defined by the Internal Revenue Service (US only). See your tax professional for details.

Recording: The operation of audio or video recording devices during these courses without the express written consent of SpiritRidge Institute is prohibited.
